Dr. Koutayas has been born in GR-Corfu [1966]. He graduated from the Technological Educational Institution (T.E.I.) of Athens [Certified Dental Technician, 1988] and the Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens [Doctor Dental Surgeon, 1994]. He performed his postgraduate studies in Prosthodontics at the Dental School of the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Germany [1998], where he completed his doctoral thesis, earned with \u201cmagna cum laude [Dr Med Dent, 2001].<\/p>\n
He successfully fulfilled the requirements of the German Association of Prosthodontics and Dental Materials and he nominated the Specialization in Prosthodontics [DGPro Board certified Prosthodontist, 2003]. He appointed as an External Assistant Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics at the Dental School of the University Medical Center in DE-Freiburg [Chair: Prof. Dr. Dr. J.R. Strub, 2005-2011].<\/p>\n
His research focuses on the biomechanical and optical behavior of current all ceramic systems and for his work he received two research awards from the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry [2008, 2009]. Dr. Koutayas has a significant number of both international and Greek publications, contributions in books and numerous lectures and seminars. He holds a membership in many re-known scientific societies and academies and he the current President of the Hellenic Academy of Esthetic Dentistry [2019-2021].<\/p>\n
