Dr. Ioanna Tsolaki is a full-time Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA, since 2013. Currently, she is also a PhD student in Cell Biology, Neuroscience, and Physiology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA. Dr. Tsolaki obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 2006, and then for two years practiced general dentistry in her dental practice in Athens, Greece. She obtained a Certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Periodontology from The Ohio State University, USA, in 2012. Dr. Tsolaki also obtained a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2016. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a recipient of the Educator Scholarship from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation and serves as Liaison of the American Academy of Periodontology for the State of New Jersey. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association and the Academy of Osseointegration. Her research work focuses on dental implants, subepithelial connective tissue grafts and stem cells.
