Dr. Tatakis is Professor, Director of the Advanced Education Program in Periodontics, and Director of Global Initiatives at the College of Dentistry, The Ohio State University.
He received his dental degree from the University of Athens and his Periodontics certificate and PhD degree in Oral Biology from the University at Buffalo. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed scholarly articles and several book chapters. His research has received honors such as the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award and the E. Bud Tarrson Research Award. He has been awarded the Outstanding Periodontal Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology and serves as Examiner for the American Board of Periodontology.
