Prof. Ph.D. Asja Celebic graduated at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb in 1980 receiving the Rector’s Award as the best student. After the obligatory one-year clinical practice and the state exam, she was employed as the Assistant in the Department of removable prosthodontics in 1982. Since 2007 she has been a Full Professor with tenure. She teaches preclinical and clinical courses in Removable prosthodontics, as well as in postgraduate studies. She was the principal investigator of several research projects funded from the Croatian Ministry of Science (Oral status, rehabilitation modalities, and OHRQoL) and the Croatian Scientific Foundation (Mini Dental Implants). She was the invited speaker at many national and international conferences. She was awarded for the best oral and poster presentations at the EPA and ICP conferences, alone or with her Ph.D. students. In 2010 she received the national „Croatian State Award“ for scientific results in the field of Biomedicine and health, in 2015 she received the award from the Croatian Ministry of Health, and in 2020 the national award from the University of Zagreb: „Andrija Stampar“ for scientific and teaching excellence. She is also elected as the visiting professor in the School of Dentistry, Skopje, Macedonia. She published many research papers reaching more than 2000 citations in the WoSCC. She made reviews for many scientific journals. She has been a member of Editorial boards of several journals. She is the editor of the University texbook: „Mini Dental Implants in a Clinical Practice“. She is a member of numerous professional Societies, as well as the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences.
