Abstract:
Atrophy of alveolar ridges following tooth extraction is a common finding and can severely compromise the esthetic and functional rehabilitation of patients. Preservation of the alveolar ridge has become the standard of care and a necessity for the successful contemporary clinician. Numerous options of biomaterials and surgical techniques can often be overwhelming for the clinician and can lead to improper clinical management. This webinar is designed to teach the general dentist and/or the specialist the principles of ridge preservation and guided bone regeneration procedures following tooth extractions or to successfully reconstruct Seibert class I, II or III ridge deformities in more severe cases. In addition, different surgical techniques, materials and successful flap management will be demonstrated. At the end of the webinar the participants should have the ability to understand the differences between ridge preservation and guided bone regeneration, the role of different biomaterials and to apply these techniques at the everyday clinical practice.
