In and Out of Digital Dentistry

Abstract:
There has been continuous technological advancements from digital computer assisted design and fabrication of dental prosthesis within the field of dentistry. Standard treatment approach was conventional impression materials, wax, gypsum and among many. Current workflows now make it more efficient by reducing chair-time and lowering lab cost.

This presentation will present a case depicting findings, etiology, treatment planning to implant surgical phase and end with definitive prosthesis. The treatment is initially planned analog, however then converted to a digital platform to completion. There are many who stay analog and some who convert to digital, as well with individuals going “in and out of digital”. Just as there is many ways to do analog, you can also say for the digital platform as well. In this presentation, I will show one of the ways it can be done and compare and contrast the pro’s and con’s of each approach thru out the process.

Aim and Objectives:
1.) Targeting how many dentists are actually transitioning into a digital work flow.
2.) Emphasis on what is Better, Faster, Less expensive and EASIER.
3.) Focusing on “In and Out” of digital workflow from conventional to digital for a full fixed implant supported prostheses.
4.) What advancements have been made and where are we going.

Verification for Confidence and Predictability for Full Mouth Rehabilitation

Abstract:
This full mouth rehabilitation was completed using a combination of implants and fixed prosthodontists. Treatment planning and sequence of treatment are crucial for case control and predictability. Every step of treatment both clinically and in the laboratory are carefully documented. This case demonstrates the importance of proper provisionals as a blue print for the final restorations to restore occlusion, function, and esthetics. It also stresses verification of master casts to eliminate error and frustration. Whether using traditional prosthodontics or digital dentistry, these steps are essential and are often not explained in a step by step manner. By using a systematic approach and meticulously verifying each step, compounding errors can be avoided.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
1. Provisionals as a blue print for final restorations
2. Cast verification for proper fit and elimination of compounding errors
